Therapy for Anxiety

Find balance through clarity and understanding

Anxiety can often feel like an ever-present hum in the background of life — a tension that doesn't quite go away, even when things seem "fine." It can also feel like chaos inside despite doing well in terms of meeting admirable expectations. Feeling anxious can make it hard to focus, relax, or enjoy life.

Understanding Anxiety

Beneath the surface

Often we worry about things that never happen, but it's very difficult to stop. We develop mental patterns where we consistently imagine the worst-case scenario. This is not a necessary way to live.

Psychodynamic therapy offers a space to slow down and explore where that anxiety comes from, rather than just trying to make it stop. We look beneath the surface of your symptoms to understand the deeper emotional patterns, experiences, and relationships that may be shaping your worries today.

Together, we uncover how old fears, unmet needs, or past losses might be influencing how you experience yourself and others in the present. Sometimes self-defeating impulses underlie chronic anxiety. Avoidance of need and autonomy can also foster it.

The Journey

What therapy for anxiety looks like

01 · Awareness

Identifying anxious patterns

Therapy will help you identify and challenge anxious thought patterns — the loops of worry, the catastrophizing, the inner voice that insists something is wrong. By bringing awareness to these patterns, they begin to lose their grip.

02 · Understanding

Exploring the roots

Together, we'll explore the underlying causes of strong anxiety and worry. As insight grows, anxiety begins to shift. You may start to feel more grounded, more in touch with your emotions, and less controlled by the thoughts that used to keep you on edge.

03 · Clarity

Gaining control

The clarity and support gained in therapy can help protect us from worrying too much and help us create a more positive outlook. By gaining more understanding of the root causes of anxious thought patterns — and with encouragement and support — you can gradually face situations that cause fear and worry.

04 · Freedom

A more balanced outlook

The goal isn't only relief from anxiety — it's also greater self-understanding, confidence, and freedom in how you live and connect with others. Most importantly, you rediscover a more balanced, realistic, and sturdy outlook on yourself and your future.
